"And truly, this (the Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds." [Al Qur'an 26:192]

Sun will extinguish

The light of the sun is due to a chemical process on its surface that has been taking place continuously for the past five billion years. It will come to an end at some point of time in the future, when the sun will be extinguished, leading to extinction of all life.

The Holy Qur’an mentions this modern day discovery in the following stated verses:

Allah it is Who raised up the heavens without visible supports, then mounted the Throne, and compelled the sun and the moon to be of service, each runs unto an appointed term.
[Al Qur’an 13:2]

He makes the night to pass into the day and He makes the day to pass into the night, He has subdued the sun and moon to service. Each runs unto an appointed term.
[Al Qur’an 35:13]

He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes night to succeed day, and He makes day to succeed night, and He constrains the sun and the moon to give service, each running on for an appointed term.
[Al Qur’an 36:38]
Arabic word used here is ‘mustaqarr’, which means a place or time that is determined. Thus the Holy Qur’an says that the sun runs towards a determined place (Solar Apex), and will continue to do only up to a pre-determined period of time – meaning that the sun will end or extinguish one day.
