Lifestyle of Ants
“Till when they [Solomon and his army] came to a (lowly) valley of ants, an ant exclaimed : ‘O ye ants! Get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his armies crush you (under foot) without knowing it’.”
[Al Qur’an 27:18]
Previously it was believed that the ants cannot talk. This notion was held uptil recently. Even today most people hold this view. However, research several decades ago had shown that ants were able to make alarm calls using sounds, but only now has it been discovered that their vocabulary may be much bigger and that they can “talk” to each other.
